Roll up! Roll up! was a collaborative show between Queen Margaret University and the Physical Theatre course in Summerhall. Taking inspiration from turn of the century variety acts this years promenade was to showcase musicians, acrobats, jugglers and more. 

 

As a specialist maker I was to create a costume for Marie Lloyd, a comedy singer who performed in music halls across the country. The designs and style of the show was to be as close to historically accurate as possible to reflect the Victorian era.

I created Marie Lloyd's costume from donated fabric which was given a new life. I created her hat from scratch  covered in beads and feathers.
